what do you like about coffee? by ~fadeawayshadowrose:iconfadeawayshadowrose:

It’s a Monday morning at six a.m. and work is in two and a half hours. The smell of coffee in the morning is an inviting scent to wake up with pure happiness. You stumble out of bed, hit your head on the nightstand, and slip on the bar of soap in the shower. You get out of the bathroom and you’re in a state of exhaustion. The party the night before no longer seemed like a great stress reliever. The scent of the freshly brewed coffee invites you to the kitchen. You manage to walk into the doorpost because you’re still not fully awake. You trip over a chair from dining table in attempts to reach your coffee.
Your other half made your coffee for you this morning. You see your other half slumped over, sitting on the stool at the counter, with a half-smile on their face. Their eyes are still half-closed. They already ate. They were only waiting for you. They kiss your lips and whisper good morning and how they have to leave to catch the seven o’clock train. Your significant other has their briefcase and coffee tumbler in hand. They walk out of the door.
It’s just you in the apartment on the fifth floor now. You take the first sip of your coffee. The aroma warms you up inside. You feel awake now. You’re never truly awake without your coffee. You go back into the bathroom, no longer tripping over chairs or walking into doorposts. You put on your work outfit. You brush your hair and put it in its usual work-appropriate hairstyle. You walk back into the kitchen and eat your breakfast of eggs and a biscuit, sipping your coffee every so often. With every sip you take, you feel more alive.
It’s almost seven thirty. You walk to the subway and get on your usual train. You forgot your tumbler of coffee on the kitchen counter. You remember where the closest Starbucks was when you were a mere intern. Now, you have a high level position. You walk in like you have been walking into those doors everyday for the past fifteen years. You’ve only lived in the city for five. You order your coffee and a brownie to go. You’re waiting at the counter and you see the little child with his mother and father, waiting for his parents’ coffee. His parents give him a cup that you assumed was filled with hot chocolate. You longed for a family similar to that one day. You were too focused to work at the moment to be able to raise a family. One day, you told yourself. One day.
You continue your walk to work. You see women in their business suits and laugh at the ones trying to walk the streets of New York in three inch pumps. You see the men walk past these women and they try to act so macho. You still can’t help but to laugh.
You get to your office building, realizing you had eaten your brownie and half of your coffee was gone. It was obvious you had been at Starbucks. The green logo was on the cup. You throw the paper bag, which previously had a brownie inside, away and the cup, which previously held the freshly brewed coffee made by a sixteen year-old barista who was just learning the works of the company, as well.
An hour later, you feel exhausted again. The current intern walks around the office, asking for orders at Starbucks. You ask for a venti.  He nods and comes back with everyone’s order. You take your venti-sized coffee and walk sink into your comfortable, leather chair at your large glass office with a view of Manhattan that one could only dream of. The intern walks back into your office, asking if all is good. You could tell they didn’t want to be an intern anymore. They hated getting people’s coffee and such.  You say yes as you get up from your chair. “Sit in the chair,” you say. “Work hard, Kid. You’re going to work yourself to get this position one day. Take everyone’s coffee order with joy, Kid. You’re going to sit in an office like this one day and those interns are going to be taking your orders. You’re going to make it one day, Kid. You’re going to make it one day.”
You’ve dealt with problems throughout your entire life. You’ve drank coffee every day since you’ve started working. Since then, you’ve grown to enjoy coffee. Why? It’s due to the fact, as a dear friend of yours would say, that coffee is a caffeinated piece of amazing. It makes people alert and overexcited. It makes the world go around. It's the basis of Starbucks Coffee.

Is there really a reason to not enjoy coffee?
No, I can’t find a reason. I have decided that there is no reason.
